Lately i've been pretty busy with Tech work, but it's been pretty boring there, its all introduction work so literally an introduction to almost everything.. even though a few of us know most of it already! I could have fallen asleep in photography the other day, not even kidding.. jeez mayaaan i know how to work a tripod and i know what shutter speed and shit are!

Tomorrow, its thursday, that means it PAY DAY! and also my last day of tech for the week. HOOORAAAY! :D I'm going to get my t shirt made for the six60 concert next friday which i am so fuckin excited about!!!!!!!

Yeah so thats pretty much everything.
Oh and i might be getting my tattoo tomorrow. :)

If you can't handle my worst, you ain't getting my best.

Tech is going pretty well, my nervz are goneskies and i can happily say it was only the fact that i was over thinking and was nervous for NO REASON! which i am happy about.
This week has been good, despite the up coming storm about to hit every street of NZ. I brought a new phone yesterday, just a slight upgrade from my now old phone i found in my car, which is worth $99.00 :s yeah i brought and iPhone 4 :D oh yeah! I have been wanting one for so long so i actually got one FINALLY! its been like a month since i made the the brave choice to attempt to save for one, the saving idea was a massive fail but i brought one anyway! so now, i am officially broke, but never been so happy to have no money, my new phone is fuckin mean!
Today (3rd March, this is from a draft entry) is my sisters birthday so she came over to hang all day with my and Kahu and Nikora, our aunty had three of her four kids for the day so it was only her and my Nephew Te Ariki who was hanging with us, and who also spent the whole day on the computer playing games, man i remeber when i was a kid, the last thing on my mind was to play on a computer, infact i didn't even know what a computer was until i was like 6. I prefered playing touch or bat down in the back, or front yard. but then again thers no way he'd get that chance in the lovely weather New Zealand is currently experiencing! Its pretty shit! Ahh the reminising side of being a little kid, shit was so much easier! however it can't really say i miss it all that much, i hate being treated liek a little kid! but i guess you don't really think much of it when you're young!

i love my life

Photoboothing it up

Lovely dinner with lovely people

Lastnight was so much fun! and a pretty good way to end my holidays before course tomorrow :) It was the girls and Scott and Adam. We were supose to go to this Mexican place which for some reason didn't do reservations for groups less than 15 :s weeeeeerrrrddddd! so if we wanted to eat there we would have had to wait an hour, by then it was 8pm so everyone was pretty keen to get a feed asap! so we walked down Courtney Place and found a Malaysian place which seemed pretty plausable. I got Chicken Korma which looked less appealing than it actually was, to be honest it looked so gross! Amber got the Vegetarian Korma and Wece and Adam got the Beef Korma and Lilz and Scott got Honey butter chicken, which i kinda wish i got! we got coconut rice and garlic roti, ah yyummmmm! i was in the mood for a nice cocktail but they only had cider :( so all of us just stuck to water and fizzy. After dinner we all headed back to Scott and Adams place walking through all the people who would most likely be pissed as, we stayed at the gusy apartment for a few hours just chatting and reminising on old times and good memories, afterall it had been awhile since we all hungout properly, like long time as in since we were at school back early November! so it was nice to just kick back and hang. me and wece were standing on the balcony so tempted to yell at people but refrained from doing so to be respectful to the neighbours, even though there were people yelling from the streets. Man i wanan live in an apartment soooooo bad!

Dinner tonight will hopefully take my mind off of things, i look forward to seeing everyone i mean it has been awhile since we all hung out together.

overthinkingandmakingmyselfabitmorenervous

Theres this problem i have, in almost every single situation where no matter what outcome it is bound to have i always, ALWAYS overthink the sitiuation! i guess for future benefits it could be a good think but its really doing my head in at the moment, my main *situation i am over thinking* is starting my course on Monday. Its only two days away and just when i thought i was almost OVER prepared i'm thinking of little things like *i don't know anyone *what if i'm late cause the bus has delays and the big one *WHAT IF I FAIL!!!!!!!!

Its up to me to make these things NOT happen.
Fingers crossed they wont!

Its Friday, friday gotta get down on fridaaaaaaaayyyy.

yeah so its a night in at home tonight, its not actually that boring despite that fact that theres nothing to do but stay on facebook, blogger or twitter all night but i'm listening to the radio and the six60 boys are on it doing a "six60takeoveronsix60FM" hahaha pretty sweet idea though huh? getting one of the biggest NZ bands in to take over and shit, but so far i'm pretty impressed by their choice of music!
Tomorrow night i'm hitting town to see Scott and Adams new apartment on the corner of Vivian and Cuba! then off to dinner with the crew, Scott and Addz, Alicia, Krystal, Lilly, Amber, Brad and maybe Josh and Carey :) so should be sweet! i think we're cranking Mexican! Hell yeah. I feel like Sangrias!

Is it just me or is Miley Cyrus getting really stunning? not thhat she wasn't before or anything but i think as shes getting older shes is really growing into her looks. anyway this isn't a omg miley cyrus post, its simply Shit man i want hair like this! maybe not the colour of this but how long it is and stuff! i'd kill to be able to pull this colour off though! its sooooooo cool! but yeah this is my aim! to be able to wear my real hair in this style. BOOOOOM
This girl right here, the one with me in the photo above ^ yeaaaah well this is Fatimah, shes one of my oldest friends, well technically shes younger than me, but shes been in my life a pretty long time! Shes like 4 years younger than me but we've grown up in the same neighbourhood together! She's Arabic, her family come from Iraq! but she was brought up Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I see her as a little sister type thing rather than a friend! Her older brother Hassan is like the older brother to my little brother. but overall we're all really close!

Shes been teaching me to write a few things from the Arabic language and i've almost nailed my name! man their language is so complicated let alone writing all the little symbols! and then to add the fact they read and write frim right to left as where in i've grown up writing from left to write!!! their way of writing would be so perfect for me, i mean i'm left handed and everytime i write or draw my hand drags along! where if i wrote the other way it would be all good and i'd have mint writing thats not all messssy and shit!

Would be so mint!

HUNGER GAMES

Pretty into reading these at the moment, i brought the first book on friday and wasn't actually aware it was being made into a movie, i just saw it on the top 10 books or something and it was only 15 dollars so why not, i mean i needed a book for course, but i've almost finished the first book and i haven't even started tech yet.. my bad!

I'm not exactly looking forward for the movie though, they're never as good as the books and in all honesty i find the movies sometimes ruin the book, i mean look at the twilight saga, i read the first twilight book, watched the first movie and was instantly put off seeing the other movies, although that didn't exactly stop me. haha so fingers crossed the movie doesn't ruin the Hunger Games Saga! i'm pretty certain it wont, the casting is pretty good! Lenny Kravits and Jennifer Lawrence sounds good to me! i think thats where twilight lucked out, the fact that Kristin Stewart is not exactly a good actress, in my opinion anyway! :)

This is me and My big sister Misty, We went on a road trip to Rotorua and on our way back stopped in at a view of Lake Taupo.
This is Chels and I before going to a Halloween party.
This is one of my besties, pretty much my sister Ashleigh
Sarah and I

Whitleigh and I, She lives in Palmy but we went to primary together and have stayed pretty good friends.

Remember when I said i used to take photos of my skater friends, this is Andy and this photo i took not actually expecting to get a good shot.

These guys here are three of my six nephews, Te Ariki, Kahu and Boston, Kahu is the one who is only a year younger so we're pretty close.
Some Ipod photography when driving to Joshs
My nephew Kupa and Niece Maia

And this is my one and only Tazz,
Do i call this part two? Hmm i guess so right, i mean it is a somewhat part two intro of myself, yeaah i'll go with that.
So, i left of with college how i went back for year 12, probably the best decision I've ever made really. Anyway the year before that i discovered something about myself which i didn't know i really had, an eye for creativity, and a huge passion for it, in saying that it was pretty much another reason i went back, being that the school i went to had photography as a subject.

I really wanted to gain somewhat knowledge of this certain subject, i brought me a DSLR camera the Canon 400D which was my prized possession and got right into photography in and out of school. The teacher we had was complete idiot though, not really teaching us anything about the history of photography nor the basics of photo shop. The school had just had a huge upgrade on computers within the art department so 20 Apple imac computers were what thing everyone in the class was learning to use. Despite the fact that my teacher who was teaching me a whole bunch of crap i already knew i scored an excellence in my first photography assessment which i was so happy about. Throughout the year i guess i did gain some knowledge a few self taught photo shop skills well with the help of Scotty Mac (My good friend) :) it was known as the bum subject, not a lot of people actually done the subject for their passion for photography, before i knew it it was time for folios, which was meant to be about "me, myself & I" so the teacher came up with, from her not explaining the idea of it properly it left pretty much the entire class thinking "Uhhhhhhh WHHHHAT"?!? hardly any of us got the concept until we demanded her to tell us in detail of what we were meant to do, eventually i got it and i scored a merit which i was pretty happy bout considering i through it together about 3 weeks before it was due and we had a whole 17 weeks to complete it.

throughout the year i became extremely good friends with a girl names Ashleigh Coghlan who i will introduce in future posts, but with a gain comes a loss right? i kinda had a falling out with my bestfriend Chelsea, well not a falling out but a somewhat drift between our friendships, we went from hanging every weekend to everyday (she had left school) to me staying at her house during the week and going to school from her house to hanging every few days to never even hearing from her via text message, this really through me off concentration on school and it felt like my whole world was sinking from when Jazz left for Aussie, i mean its pretty much the same my bestfriend moved country and my other bestie stops talking to me both situations are pretty much related! Sure i still had other friends but you know that whole feeling of losing someone who you could tell absoulutely anything to is just heartbereaking! too me anyway everyone is different. But in saying that, i thank Chelsea for a lot, she helped me meet the people who are most important to me now days, Alicia, Ashlee, Scott, Amber, Lilly, Josh and more.

Every weekend, me and Chels would hang with Josh and his skater friends who i ended up becoming reallllly good friends with, then the holidays hit and we were staying at eachothers houses every day (mostly mine) but that was all good. I'd take photos of the guys skating and stuff which was just my type of thing to do.

Back to school..

Then came prizegiving, and i managed to land 1st in photography, which made me want to continue in my new found love for photos, cameras and art. the holidays hit and then all of a sudden it was time to go back to school for year 13, my final year of highschool and i was determined to make it the best! which now that i look back it most definately was the best year at college! I was chosen to be leader of photography along side my co partner Joram who was another kid in love with the idea of photography, our role was to take photos for the school magazine and shit. I got involved more with taking photos of sport, which is funny considering i haden't played any type of sport since year 11 asides from family touch and indoor netball but it was extremely fun and made the year exciting from going on the school trips and what not! Thankfully 2011 got us a new photography teacher after our 2010 teacher decided to move across the seas to Europe or something. So i was all for meeting the new photography teacher, i had heard she was an actually photographer so i was excited! then came my first photography class of the year, and i wasn't disapointed! she went straight into talking about light exposure and shutter speed and it was all new knowledge i was gaining, i didn't want to miss a class at all, suddenly my attendance went from hardly at school to only having 4 days off throughout the whole of 2011... WOAAAAAAH! inpressive right? anywho i cranked a excellence in my first two assignments and scored a merit in my level three photography folio i was stoked because i was told the marking standards have risen and my folio would have been an excellence the year before.

The year in general was amazing, i now had descovered something that could potentially be a future career for me, and i was determined to study it in 2012 which is what i start on Monday. In like November i chose to apply at Massey University but then the whole idea of going to Uni scared me A LOT i looked more into other options Otago, Canterbury and even Auckland then even more than uni the whole idea of moving to another city scared! I decided to look into Weltec not thinking i would be interested in it at all, then i read into the Creative Technololgies courses, theres a certificate in design, certificate in creative technologies and Bachelor in creative technologies which you could choose out of majoring in Digital Media, Cultural Design, Product Engineering and Interior Design of course i looked more into the Digital Media major, it covers all aspects of Photography, Typography, Anamation, Web Design and even Film and Television. I fell in love with the idea of having a Bachelor on my CV and applied instantly. i'm pretty excited and fuckin nervous as hell.

S
o we're up to the present, now i'm sitting in my room, flicking between text, reading the hunger games and typing this shit out and listening to a mix of Maroon 5, Lauryn Hill and Six60 odd mix with the Maroon 5 but i like their music, before the "moves like jagger" song came out anyway!

In my next post i'll do purely photos just for fun :)

Feb222012

Good Morning, so yeah right now it is 10:37am and i'm suppose to be going uptown to sort out a bus card since my mum refuses to let me use her car, just the thought of public transport makes me tired, meh i guess its my only option.

Anyway, today is a sad day for many New Zealand, a day that a year ago affected the whole entire population in one way or another, today is the anniversary of the 2011 Canterbury Earthquake that destroyed the city within minutes. My dad lived in one of the apartments there which thankfully he wasn't there at the time.

My heart goes out to all the families that lost loved ones throughout the passed year due to the earthquake!

Homegrown 2012

I know i said i'd continue, but i'll do that some other time, i have other exciting shit to share.. Legooooo

On Saturday just gone, Feb 18 I went to Homegrown on the Wellington waterfront, this being one of those interesting things that happen every now and then. I purely only wanted to go for two bands inpeticular but only ended up seeing one of those two bands, which i was satisfied with because it was the most amazing thing ever, a band i had been wanting to see for over a year or so and i finally got too so i was over the moon to see SIX60 probably one of the biggest Kiwi Bands right now, they're definately a great band on cd and even better live. The whole experience was amazing, the whole homesgrown feeling was mean not to mention the ability to buy alcohol was pretty cool too, but the price of it... not so much.

I
went with my three friends on your left, from left to right Amber, Alicia and Krystal and then theres me, we had about an hour to kill before the actually bands started playing so we thought we'd be cute and take a group photo at Te Papa, there was a scottish dude taking photos of the view so i asked him to take the photo for us, he was so nice! I had only been up there once before with my nephew Kahu (who is only a year younger than me) but it was half raining that time, so this was just cool being up there in the sun.

B
efore this we went and got a feed, me, Krys and Wece (Alicia) got kebabs which were pretty disapointing i must say, not enough cheese i swear!!!!!! Ambs got some kinda fried rice from the vegetarian menu from someother takeaway part, which was literally like a neon yellow colour, we thought twice about eating what we got but by then we were pretty hungry so ate it anyway, we're still alive today so i guess it was okay.

So after taking photos at Te Papa, we went for a walk back to the open stage or whatever, it was like open to the public or people who weren't actually going to Homegrown! and watch all the b boyz bustamove! it was pretty terrible but then again i wasn't really watching i was more interested on the scenery to take photos of.

We then thought we'd go to an actual stage.

So we came here ^ to find about four people watching the show and about 11 people getting pre pissed at the back, it was Nick D and Yelwala sound system, then they started getting really into it and more people showed up, they were sooooo good and got everyone watching up and into the dancing mode. The event was rated 15 so everyone under 18 had yellow wrist bands, and everyone older had red ones, there were a few minors you could definately tell got 'on it' before this, and the fact that it was only one oclock was pretty sad, but i guess they helped everyone get into the mad dj-ing and bongo beats!

Chris Mac from Six60
And finally time for what i have been waiting for, the reason i brought a $95 ticket, to see my favourite band Six60, about an hour before they came on, like about 3pm Sola Rosa or something was on, not many peopel were up, me and my friends were sitting down having some more food down the back of the tent thing the performance was in, infact pretty much EVERYONE was sitting down eating or drinking, don't get me wrong there were people dancing along at the front of the venue but the majority people in the DUB ROOTS TENT were sitting down. Then everyone started moving up to the front, so we thought we'd do the same, before i knew it i stepped up on my tip toes and looked back and the whole tent was packed with STANDING people, the whole tent i'm not even over exaggerating!

Matiu from six60

Told you i wasn't over exaggerating ^^^
The next day i was checking my facebook when i noticed this photo above, from the six60 facebook page, titled something along the lines of "Shot homegrown you just made the video for 'forever' fuck yeah" I was instantly buzzin and so excited! i mean its not everyday you can say "i'm in a music video" not to mention "i'm in my fav bands music video" definately a highlight of my life. :)
THAAAANKKKKYOU
HOMEGROOOOWWWN!

Who the hell is this chick?

So, What do I do first?
Greet you?
Welcome you?
Hmmm, maybe a bit of both?
Hey guys, Welcome to my blog...
Jeez, that would be a tad awkward in a face to face conversation.....

As of November 2011 i am officially out of college or the "real world" so some people call it, its not much different but it's pretty boring i must say, but hopefully that will all change when i start my course next week. Anyway this is a somewhat introduction type thing right?? better get introducing.

My name is Kimi, i am 18 and like i said newly out of college or high school as some people call it. I'm from New Zealand and unfortunately living in the boring capital where interesting shit happens every now and then.
I've lived in a few places, i even lived down south for a bit but that didn't last longer than 3 years so back to good ol Wellington.
FAST FORWARD TO INTERMEDIATE>>>>>>
2005 - 2006 Maidstone Intermediate...
My first year i was in room 16, pink syndicate and luckily with a few of my friends from primary school. I was nervous but i made friends easily. It was an alright year, and from what i remember went of pretty freaking fast,.. but in saying that it seems like every single year that has past has been going bloody fast.
My second and thankfully last year of Intermediate i was in room 9, gold syndicate. I again had my good friend Awhina and Leli in my class and even had some friends from my first primary school Kristin and Imogen which made life a little easier. The year before when we were told who our teachers would be for form 2 we were all told "Mr Ash" but when we got to school on the first day we were all surprised that "Mr Ash" was actually "Mrs Ash" there had just been a muck up in something, genders i guess. how awkward for us though right...
HELLLLLOOOO COLLLEGGGE
2007 - 2011
I don't even want to talk about the first year, it was the worst for me! i guess fourth form got a little better but then came fifth form... my bestest friend ever Jazz told me she was moving to Australia from then it felt like everything ws going wrong, i didn't want to be at school to the point where i actually ended up leaving.. i couldn't stand being around anyone i was feeling like shit everyday but for some reason my mum brought me a dog, thinking it would like cheer me up or something... I guess it did, A few months into having a new little puppy he got hit my a car, thankfully it was nothing entirely serious and he didn't die on me he did however get a broken leg :( i was a mess again, as in i can't stand seeing animals in pain and he was definately in pain i stayed up with him for hours during the night until he was better. Every day i would go up town to the gym and i would always walk past work and income seeing all the bums and shit out side it... and it hit me, "i'm going to be like them, i'm going to have to go on the benny and have no proper job at all" I instantly decided then and there to go back to school for 6th form which mannnn, i am so glad i did.
I'm going to cut it there for now
To be continued! ......
